Licorice plant

Licorice is a native herbaceous plant and thrives in the tropical climate of America, the Mediterranean and parts of Asia. It has a light brown color and intense sweetness. Licorice is an herb with prolonged medicinal use over the years. As a plant, it is particularly sweet and has many phytochemicals and steroids. Licorice helps to regulate estrogens in the body, whether they are at high levels, dropping them, or low, stimulating their production. It also has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, especially against gastric ulcers. It has a hepatoprotective effect, helping to strengthen and heal the liver, it is mildly anti-allergic, a strong expectorant and also helps with bronchial catarrh, bronchitis, softens the throat in case of laryngitis and has sedative properties, helping with insomnia and anxiety.

To prepare a decoction of licorice, either we use the cut root or the powder, add a teaspoon to boiling water and boil for 5-10 minutes. Strain and drink it.
