Τσάι Bancha
Bancha tea means “ordinary tea” since it is served as an everyday variety of tea and, in the East, is generally considered to be less refined than other varieties. It is a green tea with low theine content. In taste, bancha tea gives us a tea rich in flavors with notes of wood and a characteristic aroma. This tea has a fairly low theine content and, for this reason, it can also be drunk by children, pregnant women and, in general, until late at night without causing insomnia problems. It has many benefits, the main one being that it can help detoxify your body. Indeed, it is rich in antioxidants, valuable allies in the fight against free radicals and, therefore, cell aging. It has a strong diuretic effect and the ability to alkalize the blood, balancing the pH levels, which can often become too acidic due to certain foods we consume on a daily basis, such as, for example, desserts and products made with refined flour. Bancha Tea is also rich in calcium, vitamin A and iron: elements that make it good for those suffering from mild anemia. It is also often recommended for digestive problems and cystitis: helping to reduce fluid retention and bloating, and also balances the urinary system. It is no coincidence that it is listed as one of the foods recommended as part of a macrobiotic diet which is also inspired by ancient Eastern Taoist medicine.
