Pul biber or Aleppo pepper is a spice of Syrian origin. It comes from a type of dried pepper and is used in oriental and Mediterranean cuisine. It differs from the classic bukovo, as before drying the pepper, you delay its harvest and thus let it ripen a little longer on the plant. It is a mildly hot pepper with a sweet fruity taste and light notes of cumin. It is also more oily in texture.
