Ginkgo biloba is the oldest tree species found on the planet. It is estimated from fossils that it appeared 180-200 million years ago. It thrives almost everywhere, but after the ice age it was limited to the regions of Northern China. In Europe and America it arrived in the 18th century. The word Ginkgo in Japanese means "silver apricot" and apparently refers to the fruits.

In modern herbal medicine, Ginkgo is used by healers to treat several diseases and not unfairly. One of the most important properties of Gigo is that it improves blood circulation throughout the body and helps significantly oxygenate blood vessels. This very important action has multiple benefits for the body.

Better oxygenation of the brain (consumes 20% of total oxygen) helps address problems such as memory loss, loss of ability to concentrate and generally cognitive dysfunctions mainly associated with aging – including Altzheimer's disease.

Better blood circulation in the body is particularly important for heart function and artery elasticity. Gingo is considered to act as a catalyst against PAF (platelet activation factor) which favors blood clots, cholesterol concentration and consequently leads to atherosclerosis. It effectively copes with the phenomenon of "cold extremities" as it restores blood circulation in hands and feet. Also, Gigo is referred to as "Nature's Viagra" as it is considered to help improve blood supply to the genitals and treat the phenomenon of erectile dysfunction.

Gingo has very strong antioxidant properties. The ginkgolides it contains have been shown to effectively treat infections and infections due to allergies as well as asthma attacks or toxic shocks.

Finally, Gingko is known for its anti-aging properties. Its antioxidant action fights free radicals that cause premature aging.

The main active ingredients of ginkgo are flanoids and lactones (ginkgolides A, B, and C, bilobalide, quercetin and kaempferol).
