St. John's wort or St. John's wort tincture (hypericum perforatum) contains the same active ingredients as the dried St. John's wort (swordswort) herb.
St. John's wort or St. John's wort tincture (hypericum perforatum) contains the same active ingredients as the dried St. John's wort (swordswort) herb. The character of this herb is bittersweet, cold and drying. Its components are: glycosides, flavonoids and rutin (volatile oils, tannins and resin). Balsam has been known since ancient times to heal wounds and burns, relieve pain (analgesic), soften inflammation (anti-inflammatory) and act effectively in cases where there are problems with the nervous system as a sedative and tonic to restore the nervous system, such as neuralgia trigeminal, deaths and injuries. It also relieves rheumatic pains and sciatica and is considered an astringent. In addition to its external action, balsam also acts internally on the nervous system and can effectively help with mild depression, speech disorders, sleep disorders and hysteria. The active therapeutic substances are found in the whole plant, leaves, shoots and flowers collected during the flowering season, in summer.
Tinctures retain all the active ingredients of the herb, are particularly simple to take and completely natural. They are undoubtedly superior to dietary supplements in pill form, as they do not contain chemicals and preservatives and are absorbed much more efficiently by the body.
Herbal tinctures are very active and for this reason should be consumed according to their instructions. The usual dosage is 1ml (about 20 drops per day). They should not be consumed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
