It comes from the orthosiphon stamineus plant that thrives in tropical areas. Known as java tea, in Europe it has been consumed in recent years as herbal tea. It is prepared in the usual way by dipping its leaves in hot water for a few minutes. Wonderfully mild, with earthy and wooden notes, full in the mouth, with a taste quite close to that of green tea.
