Bancha tea means “ordinary tea”, since it is served as a daily tea variety and, in the East, is generally considered not to be as refined as other varieties. It’s a green tea with a low teine content. Bancha tea gives us a tea rich in flavors with wood notes and a characteristic aroma. This tea is quite low in theine and, for this reason, can also be drunk by children, pregnant women and, in general, until late at night without causing insomnia problems. It has many benefits, of which the main one is that it can help detoxify your body. Indeed, it is rich in antioxidants, valuable allies in the fight against free radicals and, therefore, aging cells. It has a strong diuretic effect and the ability to alkalinize the blood, balancing pH levels, which can often become very acidic due to certain foods we consume on a daily basis, such as, for example, desserts and products made with refined flour. Bancha Tea is also rich in calcium, vitamin A and iron: elements that make it good for those suffering from mild anemia. It is also often recommended for digestive problems and cystitis: helping to reduce fluid retention and bloating, and also balances the urinary system. It is no coincidence that it is referred to as one of the foods recommended as part of a macrobiotic diet which is also inspired by ancient Eastern Taoist medicine.
