Rooibos is a herbal tea made from a plant grown in South Africa. The most common and widespread type is fermented red rooibos. However, there is an un fermented green type.
Green rooibos is not only rare, it is quite new. It seems to possess a higher level of antioxidants, has a milder and fresher taste and is very easy to manufacture. Green rooibos are dried immediately after harvest to preserve color, taste and antioxidants.
Antioxidant, anti mutagenic, anti-steatic and anti-inflammatory, are some of the benefits you can get from this tea. Rooibos may be able to fight free radicals and protect cells from DNA damage. Animal studies show that rooibos are indeed a tea with huge potential.
