Description

Garam masala is translated from Indian into a “mixture of hot spices”. The title isn’t creative, of course, but it’s accurate.
This garam masala spice mix is particularly popular in Northern Indian cuisine. “Garam” is the “spicy” in the “mixture of hot spices”, although this refers to the spicy structure of the mixture as opposed to the heat that the cayenne pepper adds. Bitter, spicy spices such as black pepper, black cardamom, cloves, turmeric, cinnamon and cumin make up the bulk of the garam masala spice mixture.
The mixture is often the only seasoning in many recipes although it can be an ingredient among many, especially ginger and garlic. You can add garam masala to bean dips or sour cream to give an interesting tinge to your dip. Recommended applications It is commonly used in curry as the main aromatic ingredient. Garam Masala can also be mixed with melted butter for meat marinade added before baking or added to sour cream or yogurt to create a very interesting dip!
