Ceylon or Sri Lanka cinnamon is considered to be the authentic cinnamon. It is a spice that is light brown in color and is characterized by its sweet, mild fragrance and light, piquant taste. The main body of the cinnamon stick is made of many layers of thin bark and it is quite easy to break.

Additionally, it helps lower blood glucose levels and thus has antidiabetic properties. Lastly, as it has antibacterial properties, it can help fight off infections.
